Local Attractions
Both holiday cottages are within easy driving distance of some of
County Donegals' top visitor attractions and the busy shopping town of Letterkenny. These traditional buildings have been part of the local landscape for over a hundred years have been lovingly restored to provide rural retreats for those who value privacy and tranquility.
Glenveagh National Park
We are 20 minutes drive from Glenveagh Castle, Gardens and National Park which is situated in the heart of North West Donegal and is one of six national parks in Ireland. Glenveagh is famous for its herd of red deer and many rare plants and animals. The Park contains the peaks of the two highest mountains in Donegal, Errigal and Slieve Snaght. There are a number of breathtaking walks you can do around the park.
Slieve League
We are 1 hour 20 minutes approx. drive from the Slieve League, known as the Grey Mountain cliffs, which lie on the west coast of Donegal. These cliffs have a three hundred metre drop, Slieve League is the highest mountain in Donegal south west and the 284th highest in Ireland. The approach to Slieve League is quite an experience before you even start to walk, the road twists and turns, with big unprotected drops down into the Atlantic below.
Giant's Causeway
We are 2 hours approx drive from the Giant's Causeway, which is Northern Ireland's most famous landmark. Formed between 50 and 60 million years ago, the 'causeway' takes its name from the legends of Finn MacCool. The north Antrim coastline in renowned for it scenic beauty and the Giant's Causeway is its unique jewel in the crown. In the past the causeway became widely known as the "eighth wonder of the world".
